There is another reason why you will need someone to drive you to the surgery center on the day of the surgery and to drive you home. It is not recommended to drive on the day of your cataract surgery because of any sedation or anesthesia that you may have been given during the procedure.

Some surgery centers do provide transportation to and from their facilities, just be sure to ask whether or not your eye surgeon or eye clinic provides this option.

If you don't have anyone who can drive you to the surgery center or hospital on the day of the surgery you can ask your surgeon or surgery center if it is okay to take a taxi.
