When Can I Drive A Car After Cataract Surgery?

How soon can you drive after a cataract operation depends on several factors. If your vision is good enough to drive in the eye that did not get surgery, you should be able to drive the day after surgery, as long as you feel confident in your abilities and all of the sedation from the day before has worn off.

Most states allow you to legally drive with one eye as long as the vision is corrected to 20/40, but you should check with your local department of motor vehicles to see exactly what your state requirements are.
