Your eyes may feel gritty and dry after your cataract operation because  there is a small microincision that was made on the surface of the eye during the surgery. It takes several weeks for this incision to heal and it is during this healing time after cataract surgery when you may feel as if something is in or on your eye or as if something is stuck under your eyelid .
