Acular is the most common drop that can sting the eye after surgery, it is known as an NSAID or non steroidal
anti inflammatory drop. Another name for Acular is ketorolac, which is the active ingredient and generic form of
Acular.
Acular is kind of like aspirin for the eye. It contains a preservative called benzalkonium
chlorid which can burn and sting your eyes, so it's quite common to have this particular eye drop be the cause of
the burning in your eyes. One trick you can try to help with the burning from acular drops is to put them in the
refrigerator. By cooling them like this, it can help to reduce the burning and stinging that they
cause.
