Usually the stinging in your eyes is temporary and lasts only a few seconds to a few minutes. It's important to take the drops that your eye doctor has prescribed to help the eye heal after surgery, to decrease inflammation, and to help prevent eye infections after cataract surgery. Of course, if you are having a significant amount of burning that is extremely uncomfortable than you should notify your eye doctor immediately.
