Dry eye is a very common problem with some studies suggesting up to 100 million people or about a third of the
US population suffer from some degree of dry eye.
This problem can be exacerbated after cataract removal and therefore your doctor may
recommend that you use artificial tears or lubricating drops as part of your postoperative regimen. Having a clear
cornea that isn't dry is essential to good vision, especially after cataract
surgery.
